A comprehensive eye exam evaluates both your vision and overall eye health. During the exam, the doctor measures how well you see to determine if you need glasses or contact lenses and provides an accurate prescription if needed. The exam also allows the doctor to examine the structures of the eye to detect early signs of conditions such as glaucoma, retinal diseases, and other eye health issues, helping protect your long-term vision.

An eyeglasses exam focuses on determining the exact lens prescription needed to help you see clearly and comfortably. During the exam, the doctor measures how your eyes focus and work together while checking your vision at different distances. Based on these results, a precise glasses prescription is created to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, helping improve clarity and reduce eye strain.

Contact Lenses

A contact lens fitting determines the most appropriate contact lenses for your eyes and vision needs. During the appointment, the doctor measures the shape and size of your eyes, evaluates your tear film, and selects lenses that fit comfortably and provide clear vision. Trial lenses may be used to ensure proper fit and comfort before finalizing a contact lens prescription tailored to your eyes and lifestyle.

A dry eye evaluation is performed to determine the cause and severity of dry, irritated, or watery eyes. During the exam, the doctor evaluates your tear production, tear quality, and the health of the eyelids and ocular surface. These tests help identify underlying issues so a personalized treatment plan can be recommended to improve comfort and protect the health of your eyes.

Diagnosing and managing eye diseases and disorders is essential for preserving vision and overall quality of life. Many conditions, such as Glaucoma, Cataracts, and Age-Related Macular Degeneration, often develop slowly and may not show symptoms in the early stages. Early detection through regular eye exams allows for timely treatment, which can slow progression, prevent vision loss, and help individuals maintain independence and safely perform daily activities.

Evaluating for ocular sequelae—meaning eye complications or problems that occur as a result of another health condition—is an important part of comprehensive eye care. Many systemic diseases, such as Diabetes and Hypertension, can affect the eyes and lead to conditions like Diabetic Retinopathy or Hypertensive Retinopathy. In some cases, eye exams can also reveal signs of underlying health issues a patient may not have known about, helping guide them toward appropriate medical care.

An emergency eye care visit is designed to quickly evaluate and treat urgent eye problems such as sudden vision changes, eye injuries, infections, severe pain, flashes or floaters, or foreign objects in the eye. During the visit, the doctor performs a focused examination to identify the cause of the problem and determine the appropriate treatment. Prompt care helps relieve symptoms, prevent complications, and protect your vision.
